Centennial Celebration Events

The Centennial Celebration

The Saint Paul Hotel was decked for the decades with a series of period-inspired scenes on Saturday, April 17. The evening began with inviting guests into the hotel and the 1910 era of when it all began. Guests were then invited to wander through a speakeasy of the roaring 20s, a breadline of the 30s or swing to the big band sounds of the 40s. There was late night diner food from the 50s, a disco straight out of the 70s and all this and the modern elegance of today to enjoy throughout the evening!

Historical Tea

The Saint Paul Hotel celebrated 100 years on Sunday, April 18 with a special historical tea served in the elegant lobby at The Saint Paul Hotel.

Ice Cream Social

The Saint Paul Hotel's Centennial Ice Cream Social in Rice Park on Monday, July 12 was a success! With beautiful weather and sweet treats, the general moral was high. The event was open to the St. Paul community, and featured $1.00 ice cream with the proceeds benefiting the downtown St. Paul based Listening House. The Mayor of St. Paul also honored The Saint Paul Hotel with a proclamation of “Saint Paul Hotel Day” in honor of the hotel’s many contributions to the city throughout its hundred-year history.

Following the Ice Cream Social in Rice Park, all current and former Saint Paul Hotel employees were invited to reminisce and reconnect in the Saint Paul Hotel ballroom. A pianist from the hotel 40s tickled the ivories while past and present employees mingled, had birthday cake, and viewed the historical artifacts on display in the ballroom.
